How Gillware Saved My Day

As the marketing intern here at Gillware, I work on a lot of different projects. You know, whatever needs to be done for whoever needs me to do it. One of the things we do in marketing is share customer success stories so that other people can find a data recovery or an online backup solution that really works. I never thought that I would be one of those stories…

Recently I have been learning how to create videos using different editing softwares. It’s been a lot of fun, and I was starting to finally get the hang of it. So I got a project to work on by myself.

Click. Save. Replace existing file? Sure. Wait, what?! The moment I realized I accidentally deleted an important file at work, I went into panic mode. Recycle bin? No. Control Z? Not a chance. Close and reopen? Nice try. I looked and looked, but sure enough it was gone. I was so upset that I couldn’t think straight. I couldn’t believe I lost a project that I had spent over a day on. And of course I only had an hour before it was due. Leave it to the intern to screw things up.

After I settled down a little bit, I realized that I was in a building where people recover data every day. There really is no better place than Gillware to accidentally delete a file. My coworker reminded me that all the computers here have Gillware Online Backup installed on them. (I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I had never used the software before—then again, this was the first time I lost data.)

So I went into my archives, and there it was sitting—perfectly intact. All I had to do was restore it back to where it came from. Click. Restore. Gillware saved the day! I will definitely be more careful in the future, but I feel a lot safer knowing I have Gillware Online Backup…just in case.
