Every month Gillware gives away a small prize to the best customer-submitted recovered photo with description. This is our way of showing how much we value and enjoy helping our customers retrieve their precious data. We know that each and every crashed drive is a disaster and we take personal pride in helping you get it back.

Each month we pick a winner and give away a $25 gift certificate to an internet retailer.

If Gillware has recovered any photos that are particularly meaningful to you, send us an email with a one-paragraph explanation as to why the photo is important to you and attach the photo. Just send the email to with the subject "Photo Contest" if you'd like to enter! So get that favorite baby picture, pet picture, wedding photo out, it could be worth $25!

The first picture is my first daughter. My wife had trimmed her thumbnail too close, and it started bleeding. A doctor wrapped up the thumb, but my daughter kept trying to eat the bandages. We then put a mitten on her hand. She started pulling the mitten off. So finally we had to pin the mitten to her sleeve to keep it from coming off. I got this shot right after she tried yet again to get the mitten off, and finally just stuck her tongue out at me in protest.

The second picture is my second daughter. I had just purchased a new digital camera, and my wife and I took the kids to the park. I was experimenting with the camera and decided to try the macro photo mode. I leaned in close and took a few pictures of my daughter. Later, when reviewing the picture, I saw something really neat. If you look in her eyes, you'll see me taking her picture!
