Brian holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Brian is a drive firmware expert well-versed in the firmware architectures of all the major storage vendors. He is on the board of directors for Gillware Data Services and Phoenix Nuclear Labs.
Brian co-authored the first edition of the WebLogic Server Bible, published by John Wiley & Sons in 2002.
* Tyler Gill, Vice President and Chief Operations Officer
Tyler originally got the idea for the business when his own hard drive crashed and he couldn't find an affordable solution. Tyler holds a variety of computer-related certifications and also attended UW-Madison. His specialties are computer networking, custom computer assembly, and hardware repair. Before Gillware, Tyler had been building high-performance computer networks for small businesses and designed and built powerful custom workstations and storage solutions for clients. Tyler built and manages our custom recovery systems, robust intranet network, and multi-terabyte storage arrays.
* Dr. Gregory Piefer, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Piefer holds a Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He also holds B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics and a M.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering. His research includes nuclear fusion, magnetic monopoles, the Hubble Space Telescope, and inertial-electrostatic confinement. Greg is in charge of Gillware's new technology efforts for hardware and software methods to repair troubled drives.
* Wesley Gill, Chief Information Officer
Wesley holds B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science
from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Wesley's experience includes a
wide variety of engineering and development positions. He has conducted
testing of high performance off-road racing technologies for General
Motors, developed geometry and mesh generation tools for Sandia National
Laboratory, engineered reliability improvements for Sub-Zero Freezer and
Wolf Appliance Companies, and designed case management software for the
State of Wisconsin Courts. Wesley is also an expert in RAID analysis and
reconstruction. Wesley develops custom software for the most difficult RAID-0 data recovery cases and RAID-5 data recovery cases. Wesley leads Gillware's development of process control and information systems management.
* Scott Holewinski, Director of Research and Development
Scott holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Prior to coming to Gillware to lead the research and development team, Scott’s professional career began in the design and reliability engineering departments at Sub-Zero Freezer and Wolf Appliance Companies. Scott later went on to serve as the Director of Engineering at Phoenix Nuclear Labs where he remains on the Board of Directors. At Gillware, Scott leads a team of talented engineers focused on developing innovative and cost-effective data recovery tools and techniques.
